My NYC gem.![]() 3/20/02
The type of restaurant that makes New York special to me. A true gem whose terrific food is only enhanced by the dim, intimate atmosphere, the in-house DJ's providing a mellow soundtrack, and the friendliness of the owner, who continuously walks around the room making sure everything is O.K. with the meal. I opt for the downstairs lounge, simply because it's more spacious and more quiet. These people do things with artichokes that I never knew were possible. Highly reccomended. |
Appalling![]() 4/21/03
I went to the restaurant upon hearing rave reviews about the food --not the owners-- and was met with a dinner special that was incredibly bland and an owner that was incredibly rude. I'm sorry I wasted the evening. |
Incredible!![]() 7/11/03
Not only was this restaurant an unbelievable party, the food was inventive, surprising, and delicious. The House wine provides a wonderful beginning to a meal that never stops amazing you. Every dish is succulent in a subtle, unassuming way. Il Bagatto is a dark, sexy restaurant and twinkly lights and tiny candles are all you have to view your meal (and your dinner mate), but it just makes the whole experience more sensual. It's a truly terrific restaurant! |
